Providing next-generation sports infrastructure solutions

Great Sports Infra (GSI), South Asia’s leading provider of turnkey solutions for sports infrastructure, delivers innovative, next-generation infrastructure solutions.
The plight of sports infrastructure of India indicates that there is enough room for upgrading the existing facilities. Here comes the role of GSI. They bring in new technologies in the form of sophisticated products and solutions of international standards that cater to the next-generation needs.

Synthetic grass was first ushered by GSI in India in 2004 and has come a long way since then. Their product portfolio spans across synthetic grass for sports (FieldTurf), interlocking modular tiles (SnapSports), turf protection system (Terraplas), synthetic athletic tracks (Porplastic), modular gallery seating (Alcor), subsurface aeration and drainage technology for cricket outfields (SubAir) etc. These products are designed and manufactured by world-leaders in their respective domains and approved by international sports governing bodies such as FIFA, FIBA, ITF, IHF, IAAF etc.

If champions are to be borne, one needs to be agile and adaptive to new technologies. Earlier, sports facilities of international standards were not within the reach of commoners. These facilities also entailed huge investments in terms of construction. At GSI, their vision was to ‘take sports to people’ wherein the government could deploy reasonable sports infrastructure across all districts and towns. They build state-of-the-art infrastructure that not only helps their clients achieve increased cost and operational efficiency but also reach the highest echelons of customer satisfaction.

GSI, through its unique concept of “Smart Sports Infrastructure”, has revolutionized the framework of sports infrastructure with multisport and multipurpose facilities. Multisport facilities are highly beneficial for an economy like that of India’s. They save on construction costs, support various sports and are engineered for varied usages. This not only helps conduct various sports activities but also host myriad of non-sports activities such as tradeshows, political and religious gatherings, etc. The products require virtually no maintenance and last many years.

Till date, GSI has installed a whopping 12 million sq ft of sports surfaces across South Asia. This includes an IAAF Class I Certified track at Salt Lake Stadium; IAAF Certified athletic tracks at IIT Madras; AFMC, Pune; Mauritius to name a few. Some of the other notable projects are FIFA Standard football fields at Salt Lake Stadium, Chowgule College, Paljor Stadium (Gangtok), and the same has been delivered in Colombo, Maldives, and Dhaka; FIH Standard Hockey fields were used at National Games and World Hockey League Finals; they have also delivered stellar modular sports surfaces for various schools and universities. In addition to that, there have been some exemplary installations at schools such as National Public School in Mysore and Mohana Devi Somani School in Udaipur.

GSI has revamped the outfield at M Chinnaswamy International Cricket stadium, Bengaluru, making it the first cricket stadium in the world to have installed SubAir System. The subsurface aeration and vacuum power drainage has virtually eliminated any chance of a match getting cancelled due to wet outfields and water logging. Another exemplary project GSI has executed is the Modular Gallery Seating at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mizoram. This product (Alcor) from France replaces conventional concrete galleries and can be commissioned at half the price and one third the time.

Great Sports Infra, with its next generation solutions, caters to the needs of all sectors of the sports industry, be it amateurs or professionals. GSI has been redefining sports infrastructure since 2004 and has significantly improved the dynamics and economics of sports predominantly within the South Asian region.
